Taking photos is a common way to capture life’s precious moments, such as child’s first birthday, “Hundred days” celebration, “Seven-Five-Three” rites of passage (celebration of the growth and well-being of young children in Japan), entering university, graduating from university, getting married, and so on. Although photos cannot fully capture our feelings, by looking at them we can recall the emotions of those precious moments.
The Town of Photography, Higashikawa, is a place where capturing life’s precious moments is highly encouraged. The town wishes to celebrate those moments with you, offering the services of professional photographers who will take commemorative photos, placing it in an original frame and giving it to you as a present.
Children are our future. To celebrate them, the Town of Photography, Higashikawa, will take a “Hundred Days” commemorative photo of your child, put it in an original frame, and give it to you as a present.
You may receive your “free-photo ticket” (muryo satsuei-ken) when you submit your child’s birth certificate. Chose one of the photo studios listed and arrange your photo-shoot. Later the photo of your choice will be put in an original frame and given to you as a gift.

In order to thank and show respect to the elderly who have contributed greatly to the development of the town, Higashikawa will take a commemorative photo for your 80th Birthday, put it in an original frame, and give it to you as a present.
Townspeople who on January 1 in the corresponding year are registered in the Basic Resident Register and turn 80 that year, are eligible to receive a “free-photo ticket”. Chose one of the photo studios listed and arrange your photo-shoot. Later the photo of your choice will be put in an original frame and given to you as a present.
